Allergan Data Labs is on a mission to transform the Allergan Aesthetics beauty business at AbbVie, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. The medical aesthetics business is ripe for rapid growth and disruption, and we are looking for an experienced UX Research Manager to add to our high-performing team to do just that.

Our team has successfully launched a new and innovative technology platform, Allē, which serves millions of consumers, tens of thousands of aesthetics providers, and thousands of colleagues throughout the US. Since its launch in November 2020, Allē has delivered curated promotions, personalized experiences, and millions of consumers use it as part of their beauty journey.  

As a UX Research Manager, you will report to the Director of Product Design, and be responsible for researching the end-to-end user experience for our medical aesthetics provider audience, as well as manage a small team of UX researchers. You Will

  • Research the end-to-end user experience for our medical aesthetics provider audience and partner closely with the Director of Product Management to define and validate the longer-term vision.
  • Be a hands-on researcher while managing a small team of UX researchers and mentoring the broader product organization in the democratization of UX research.
  • Document and share insights with the product team, as well as the broader organization, and provide opportunities for team members and stakeholders to regularly engage in research.
  • Define ResearchOps at Allergan Data Labs: guiding the strategy, processes and tools used to conduct UX research and the internal repository of insights.
  • Become a subject-matter expert with a deep understanding of the jobs-to-be-done, clarifying them via journey maps and personas, and routinely socialize them across the organization to drive alignment and provide actionable insights.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years of research experience. You’re a T-shaped researcher with a deep specialization in in-person and remote user research with a broad set of skills across survey design, ethnography, CX, quantitative research, etc.
  • You enjoy meeting different people and being an avid listener, while also providing great customer service skills.
  • Experienced leader with 2-3 years of experience hiring, developing, and managing a high-performing team.
  • You’re an inspiring storyteller and excellent at sharing and communicating insights to diverse audiences: from product designers, product managers, marketing, all the way up to the Allergan Data Labs leadership.
  • A portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables.
