If that’s you, please read on.

The Business Intelligence Specialist, Marketing Analytics partners with stakeholders across the business to answer analytical questions critical to the success of our teams and our customers, such as:

  • How are our largest customers performing, and how can we help them improve?
  • Which of our marketing investments are most effective?
  • What trends do we see across the business and how do those trends differ across different customers?

You will design innovative analytic approaches to test hypotheses, drive actionable insights by identifying patterns in structured and unstructured data, and develop recommendations to drive business performance. Not only will you conduct analysis, but you will work with stakeholders across the organization to influence and shape decision-making, grounded in data.  You will be instrumental in leading the use of analytics as a critical value driver and source of competitive advantage across our organization, and will serve as a thought-leader for the way analytical work is done within ADL

You Will

  • Apply advanced analytics and business strategy techniques (core statistical-modeling, data visualization, data mining) to extract actionable insights through analysis of large-scale, high-dimensional data.
  • Create alignment with stakeholders to understand their analytic needs and provide accurate, actionable and insightful analysis beyond the ask to support their critical business decisions.  Influence how stakeholders think about their own area of the business in a data-driven way (e.g. what KPIs are more meaningful and measurable).
  • Shape the thinking of our teams by not only communicating the details of your analysis, but its business implications – influence stakeholders to make better business decisions, including senior leadership.
  • Develop strategies, analyses and dashboards to enable unambiguous visibility into business and industry performance.
  • Provide internal thought leadership – shape our best practices for analytics within ADL and serve as a mentor for less seasoned data analysts.
  • Partner with data engineers to ensure accurate and up-to-date data power each analysis.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Intelligence/Analytics or equivalent.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity - creative in devising problem-solving approaches in the face of incomplete data or new problems to solve.
  • Expert in bridging business and analytics – routinely probes for second-order understanding to get at the ‘question behind the question’ to ensure that analytics drives real business value.
  • Highly proficient with SQL.
  • Expert in modern visualization tool(s) like Tableau, Looker, etc.
  • Extensive experience building analytical approaches and dashboards to present meaningful data insights and business opportunities.
  • Comfortable using massive datasets and the big data eco-system.
  • Regular experience applying statistical analyses and modeling to business problems; experiment design, hypothesis testing, regression, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability working independently and applying exceptional creativity in solving open-ended problems.
  • Collaborative and decisive verbal, written, and visual communication skills for data storytelling.
